Going to cap at 28 for Foxwoods trip. Below is who I have so far and who wants a single room or has let me know who their roommate would be. If you haven’t responded on the roommate/single please let me know by tomorrow so Mark can lock in the rooms for us. If you have a roommate you’d like to share the room with you should let them know too. ?

Anyone else for Foxwoods? If you wish to room with someone or have a single room let me know. Mark has got a tentative price for a room at $119 + 15% tax ($137) which is pretty good so if you’d like a single the rate is exceptional. They are waving the Resort Fee. 

I’ve assigned a few roommates based on what folks did last year but if you wish to change it let me know. Thanks.

A few notes on the trip before I get to the results.

We got lucky with the weather and managed to get in all 36 holes at Connecticut National before the rain started.

Winnings from bowling and Monday golf for folks that were not around to collect/consume was donated to the winter tour slush fund (will be used to cover future expenses for web site, trophies, flowers, and the occasional lunch bill shortage).

The Sunday night activities at Foxwoods must have taken a toll on folks this year as only 19 folks managed to complete 36 holes on Monday.  More on this later but the executive committee will be considering reducing the Monday golf to 18 holes with later tee times next year.  We’re not getting younger and the crew parties too hard to try to play 36 holes after a night at the casino.

The entertainment for the weekend was provided by Andrew.

1^st we get back in the clubhouse after golf at Lake of Isles and Andrew mentioned he had 6 doubles.  I had his scorecard and saw he shot 76 so I asked how he could shoot a 76 with 6 double bogeys, it didn’t seem possible.  It’s possible when the doubles are Captain and Coke. 

After several more Captain and Cokes at bowling he took to the karaoke stage. 

I can’t do his performances justice here but luckily we have a couple videos and will get them posted on the website shortly. 

Now let’s get to the results (full details are in the attached PDF file).

The leading money winner for the weekend was Don N with $60, 

There was a 3 way tie for 2^nd between Kathy G, Paul, and Mark L with $57.50

For the 2^nd year in a row low net for the weekend was Roger at 209 / -5,

2^nd went to Disco at 213 / -1.

They were the only 2 to finish under par (net) for the 3 round total.

Low Gross was Paul at 240 / +26, 2^nd was Andrew at 244 / +30

The Mooch award went to Peggy with a high 3 round net score of 255 / +41 (Bob was runner up with Mooch a close 3^rd)

Everyone that played all events cashed in at least 1 so there was no Mooch award for non winners.

Overall scores were about the same as last year.

Our average score for the group at Lake of Isles was 89.3 gross / 77.4 net.  This was 1.3 strokes better than last year’s average.  Only 2 folks (Roger and Darren) shot under par net.  There were 4 additional folks (Disco, Paul, Andrew, Mike McB) that shot even par net.

At Connecticut National there were 8 rounds under par (net) – Roger 2, Phil 2, Disco AM, Paul AM, Neil C AM, Brooks AM)

The group average score for the weekend was 264.6 / +50.6 gross – 228.3 / +14.3 net. 

That was 0.3 strokes worse than last year’s overall average.

As for bowling we’re getting better. 

The average 2 string total score this year was 215 compared to last year’s 203.

High bowler was Kevin with at 2 string total of 310, 2^nd went to Mark at 307.

Keven also had the high single string at 190.

For the 2^nd straight year low 2 string total went to Roger with a 120 (this included 6 straight frames of 0 pins).

Times/Teams/Format

 Sunday tee times at Lake of Isles start at 9:00AM

Monday we will be playing 36 holes at Connecticut National, Morning tee times start at 8:00AM, afternoon tee times start at 12:30PM.

As with all “away” events we will be using handicap indexes for all golf events.

Event fees for the trip are $10 per golf event, $5 for bowling event.  Please pay your total event fees for the weekend to Kevin before your 1^st event.  If you are in for all events the total event fee is $35, if you are not playing all events deduct the appropriate golf/bowling fees.

Lake of Isles winners will be paid out for the Lunch at Lake of Isles.

Bowling and the Monday golf winners will be paid out at the post golf dinner at Connecticut National.

You are on your own for Monday lunch at Connecticut National.

Golf cost at Connecticut National is $49 for the 1st round and includes a $5 voucher you can use toward lunch, 2^nd round is just the $19 cart fee.

Mark got a lower negotiated room price for our Foxwoods trip.

Instead of $119 it’s now $89.

Hopefully forecast improves. Right now it’s showing showers each day. Not that the Winter Tour can’t handle it but Sun is so much better.

Mark is working on our Winter Tour annual Foxwoods trip getting pricing etc.

The trip consists of a round or golf at Lake of Isles CC, Overnight stay at Foxwoods, Bowling Sunday evening 6/4 and 36 holes at 1 or 2 pre determined golf courses on our way home on Monday 6/5. Paul will select our courses for that Monday. Likely River Ridge or Conn National.

Expectation is if you sign up it’s for all aspects of the trip.

Well we can’t play outside right now so time to focus on the good weather.
 
Mark got a quote for our Foxwoods trip this year.
 
Our planned date is Sunday June 5th at Foxwoods and Monday June 6th to play 36 at some course.
Our trip as usual will include bowling which was $108 last year including food and open bar.
Price for this year is a little lower for Foxwoods golf than last year and includes a shirt from the course.
 
I’ll be sending an invite out from our Web site but just wanted to let folks know to expect it and sign up so Mark can lock us in.
 
The expectation is if you sign up it’s for the whole package including golf for both days and bowling. If you’re unable to do all of it we’ll add you to the Alternate list and fill in where we can. Last year we had 40. We’ll work to round out to 4some’s then go with Alternates. Thanks.
